Well, you pay for it with your labour, a minimum of 8 hours, over the three days. Because we feed our volunteers and we appreciate everything you do for us. VOLUNTEERS
Volunteer Crew Job Descriptions

MARKETING AND PROMOTION
Schedule and attend events prior to the festival to promote awareness and pre-sell tickets. May assist with organizing other volunteers to attend events.
Assisting with promoting the festival through various media outlets
May assist producer with the weekend program book

ADMINISTRATION
Assist producer with administrative tasks pre and post festival
Assist volunteer coordinator pre festival.

SITE
Responsible for set-up, maintenance and teardown of the Festival site
Responsible for preparation and placement of all Festival signs, banners, etc.
Environment: Responsible for keeping the Festival site clean during the festival weekend, which includes removal of garbage and recyclables
Coordinates resolution of any on-site issues during the festival weekend.

SECURITY
Responsible for providing security to all areas within the Festival site. Requirements may be pre, during festival and post.

BEER GARDENS (TICKET TAKERS)
Sell drink tickets .
Exchange drink tickets for beverage of choice.

BEER GARDEN (SECURITY)
Ensure security within beer gardens.
Ensure drinking age is verified.

KIDS KORNER
Responsible for the organization and supervision of activities within the Family Area.

GATE
Responsible for all patron traffic coming onto the site during the Festival weekend. Specific duties include taking tickets, placement of wrist bands and checking badges at entry points to the Festival site.
Responsible for greeting, providing assistance and providing information to patrons with disabilities who may require special services at the Festival weekend.
Responsible for providing information to Festival patrons; selling of program books.

MEDIA
Responsible for setting up interviews between the Performers, Artistic Director, etc. and the media (print, radio and television).

MUSIC & MERCH
Responsible for handling of Performer and Folk Festival products during the Festival weekend. This crew maintains accurate records at all times, keeps track of performer’s consignments, manages inventory and controls the cash sales.
Responsible for selling program books at the gate, in merch area and on-site
Responsible for selling raffle tickets throughout the Festival weekend. Volunteers should be energetic and comfortable approaching the public. & handling money.














HOSPITALITY
Responsible for providing hospitality to performers at the festival site and acts as resource and information center for performers and Festival guests.
Responsible for providing hospitality to performers at the hotel (as required), issuing badges, schedules, program books and Festival kits after hotel check-in. This crew also acts as an information source for performers and Festival guests in the hotel.

SHUTTLE / AIRPORT
Responsible for providing a regular shuttle service for the performers between the hotel and the Festival site.
Responsible for performer pick up and delivery to airports. All crew members must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 24 years of age.

STAGE
Responsible for setting up the sound equipment and instruments on each of the stages on the Festival site.
Moves equipment and instruments to stages and other materials on site as required.

PARKING / CAMPING
Responsible for controlling traffic into and around the Festival site.
Provides information as required.

PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEOGRAPHY
Takes photos or video of musicians, patrons, volunteers and site.

VOLUNTEER SERVICES
Signs volunteers in and out of festival site.
Sign in and out radios and educates on proper use of radio; ensures all radios are returned at the end of the evening and locked.
Ensures volunteers are provided with information package and t-shirt
Responsible for storing volunteers personal items on site, providing information to volunteers and managing messages for volunteer coordinators.
Handles lost children and manages the lost & found.
Assists coordinator(s) in management of any issues encountered with volunteers.
